Casa del Lago

Casa del Lago, legally known as Esperanza Ministries, is a US-based nonprofit organization that was incorporated as a 501(c)3 entity in the fall of 2014. It was founded by leaders from Cristo Rey Presbyterian Church with the vision of serving the needs of the Hispanic community in the Bachman Lake neighborhood of Dallas, Texas.

Mission and Programs

Casa del Lago's mission is to serve the Bachman Lake community with quality, faith-based educational programs, counseling, and legal assistance. The organization aims to equip families in the area to face educational, spiritual, and material challenges in their lives. Programs include early childhood education, adult education, and after-school reading initiatives, as well as summer programs designed to support community development.

History

The organization's roots trace back to Cristo Rey Presbyterian Church, which began offering English as a second language classes in 2006 and launched a Summer Youth Corps discipleship program in 2011. Recognizing the need for broader community support beyond the church's capabilities, church leaders formed a working group that led to the establishment of Casa del Lago.

Casa del Lago operates under a board of directors, which includes leaders such as Eliot Kerlin, Patrick Sargent, Jaime Fernandez, Mark Newcomer, Kay Gabrysch, Ricardo Brambila, and Christy Gehlbach. The organization seeks to demonstrate God's love by providing transformative community services.
