Kansas City Riverfront Heritage Trail The Riverfront Heritage Trail is a fully accessible 15 mile bike/pedestrian pathway that begins at the riverfront and winds through the oldest and most historic parts of bi-state Kansas City. KCRT, Inc. is devoted to the design and construction of the Riverfront Heritage Trail which will be the hub of the city-wide trail system. It accomplishes its goals by reinforcing the collaborative efforts of all those involved in its design, funding, construction, operation and utilization. Through KCRT's emphasis on collaborative representation, it has come to play a key role in the development of this critical bi-state, urban, bike/pedestrian, riverfront trail system. It is one of the few organizations that effectively works on a bi-state project with a bi-state board representing all the major stakeholders. It was designed to be flexible enough to incorporate other trail projects, and this has already begun to take place. It is designed to connect our bi-state communities, parks, and neighborhoods. It has the additional mission of providing a hub for our urban trail system.
