A sure sign of Spring; a little bit of outdoor downtime with our teams! On Tuesday, we hosted the CoxHealth Young Professionals for an evening of networking, games, and enjoying all Primrose Park has to offer. It was a chance for CYP members to get to know one another, and to join our senior leaders for casual conversation and Pineapple Whip. “CYP has always been an effort to bring people together,” says Teresa Coyan, CoxHealth’s Chief of Staff and founder of the group. CoxHealth Young Professionals brings together growth-minded colleagues from all areas of the health system for community, mentorships, education and more. “Our young professionals are the people who are first to say: ‘Sign me up, I want to learn, to help and to serve,’” Coyan says. “I’m so proud of the way we engage our colleagues who raise their hands and say. ‘I want to be a part of something more.’” Thanks to all of our CYP members and senior leaders who joined us – and a special thanks to the team at Better Block SGF, who made the Primrose Park pop-up possible! Exciting news from our trauma team at Cox South! We’re proud to announce that our Emergency & Trauma Center at Cox South has earned Level I Trauma Center redesignation from both the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and Arkansas Departments of Health. This designation is valid for the next three years. “This achievement is a testament to the countless hours of dedication and hard work put in by the members of our trauma program,” says Norrie Bradley, Trauma Program Manager. This achievement followed a comprehensive, two-day on-site review, our program was evaluated on everything from quality improvement and research to education, outreach, and injury prevention. The Level I redesignation — the highest of three levels — follows a two-day, on-campus evaluation of CoxHealth's trauma program. Areas assessed include quality improvement, injury prevention, research, trauma registry, education and outreach, ensuring that Cox South continues to meet the highest standards of trauma care. "This achievement is a testament to the countless hours of dedication and hard work put in by the members of our trauma program," says Norrie. "Trauma care extends far beyond a single area of the hospital and this redesignation is a clear recognition of the exceptional work being done by the trauma program and the vital support of ancillary departments at CoxHealth." The center features a 62-bed emergency department — one of the largest in Missouri — and can care for more than 110,000 patients annually. Its advanced technology includes a high-speed CT scanner and features an on-site laboratory, state-of-the-art disaster management facilities and a dedicated area for patients requiring observation for 24 hours or less.
