We’re thrilled to welcome Sarah Place, our new Vice President of Postsecondary to Workforce Pathways, to the America’s Promise Alliance team. With over two decades of experience in the nonprofit sector—including political campaigns, philanthropy, and deep roots in the education space—Sarah brings a steadfast commitment to student-centered design and equitable access to opportunity. She is energized by designing and implementing programs that are student-centered and drive impact for social and economic mobility. Sarah shares: “My connection to this work stems from my direct service experience at Bottom Line, where I worked with students to get into and through college with the career readiness skills to secure a mobilizing first job. Being at this organization for 19 years gave me the insights to see the career arcs of thousands of students and it has been a privilege to witness their incredible journeys as they have become leaders in their communities. Even after leaving direct service work, I have continued to use these experiences to ensure student experience is at the center of program design.” In her previous role, Sarah participated in APA as a member and directly benefited from the support and thought leadership of this dynamic community. “I have spent my career working to ensure that every student has the chance to pursue a postsecondary and career options that fit their needs. APA’s bold vision for equity and innovation in education is exactly the kind of work I’m excited to be part of, and I am so fortunate to be able to do this work in community with so many incredible leaders in our field.” Sarah will be leading transformative multi-org collaborations to address the biggest challenges in postsecondary success and workforce development. Please join us in welcoming her to the APA team! (fb)
