🎛️ Happy birthday to our 2021 inductee Bob Moog! Born May 23, 1934, Bob wasn’t a musician—but he forever changed music with his invention of the first widely available synthesizer. From Switched-On Bach to Stevie Wonder and Kraftwerk, his instruments opened new soundscapes across pop, hip hop, electronic, rock, and classical music. Bob built his first theremin at age 14 and later earned a Ph.D. in engineering physics. In 1970, he created the legendary Minimoog, putting the power of synthesis in the hands of performers. In 1978, he made North Carolina home and founded Moog Music, a company still shaping music today. 🎶 A true pioneer who helped define modern sound. (fb)
