The Kanawha Institute for Social Research & Action, Inc. (KISRA) was established as a 501(c)(3) organization in 1993 by Ferguson Memorial Baptist Church. KISRA is a faith-motivated, non-profit organization that strengthens West Virginians through Health, Employment, Asset Development and Learning programs. KISRA serves and empowers West Virginians through education, employment, economic empowerment and behavioral health initiatives.

Programs that help people become more financially fit establish a pattern of saving and micro business technical assistance.
