Heartland Head Start is a federally funded program that promotes the school readiness of children ages birth to 5 In 1965 Heartland Head Start began supporting 60 children in McLean County. Over the course of over 50 years, we’ve been consistent in fulfilling our mission and vision and have grown to serve 275 children and families in McLean and Livingston Counties. Heartland Head Start enhances the lives of children and families by providing a comprehensive child and family development program for pregnant women, children birth to age 5 and their families who meet the federal guidelines in McLean and Livingston counties in Central Illinois.
