Portage Area Community People Incorporated

The PACPI has established the following mission; endeavor to increase community awareness and embrace diversity to stimulate community harmony, promote equal opportunity for all, eliminate racism and other forms of prejudice, correct the incorrect, develop and expand opportunities for jobs, education, health, recreation and leisure and other services. These programs would include, but are not limited to, community policing, alternative education for all ages, job programs (e.g., clubs, searches, job creation, job preparation), day care, ministry, counseling, support groups, and housing. The programs are also designed to alleviate problems and tensions among the people living in this area and between the persons and the service providers. These programs are currently needed for people without sufficient services due to the conflict within and lack of understanding by people with diverse and emergent cultures.
