We were thrilled to host students last week from Brothers 2 Brothers and Sisters 4 Success, for their annual Fine Arts Day visit to the museum. After an opening talk each day, students were led by volunteer docents to discuss works of art in the Art Center’s collections. Students were prompted to consider what questions they might ask the artist about their painting or sculpture, or what to title the work of art and why. The Des Moines Art Center thanks Variety - the Children's Charity of Iowa for their continued support of youth art programs. ICYMI: dsm Magazine featured artist Ben Millett in their latest edition! Millett is the Des Moines Art Center's 2025 Iowa Artist and will have an exhibition at the museum July 26 through November 2, 2025. The Iowa Artists exhibition is a decades-long series presenting the best of Iowa-made art, and this will be the first solo show by a quilt maker in the museum’s history. (fb)
