All participants perform in a mass choir and have the opportunity to choose classes based upon personal interests. YEPAW FOCUSES ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF YOUTH IN THE AKRON AREA. YEPAW CONDUCTS THREE DISTINCT ACTIVITIES THAT CONTRIBUTE TO LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT: YEPAW WEEK, YEPAW 365, AND YEPAW INSTITUTE. THE FUNDAMENTAL GOAL OF EACH OF THE THREE PROGRAMS IS TO USE THE ARTS AND INTENSIVE SKILLS TRAINING TO IMPROVE YOUTH OUTCOMES AND PROMOTE LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT.

YEPAW It all started with Dr. Leslie Parker Barnes Dream in 1990. In order to dispel the myth that our youth are hopeless generations she started the Youth Excellence Gospel Choir YEGC in the basement of Arlington Church of God in Akron Ohio. YEGC later became Youth Excellence Performing Arts Workshop YEPAW a 501c3 in 1998.
