Helping Hounds Find Homes, Inc. ("HHFH") promotes animal welfare through education, facilitating animal rescue efforts and organizing pet adoption events.  Harrison County Kentucky has many homeless pets which are need of veterinary care and placement in a foster home while awaiting placement with an animal rescue organizations.  HHFH strives to meet the needs of these homeless pets located in Harrison County, Kentucky.   The Flora Shropshire Animal Shelter is the local animal shelter which is operated by the county.  The Flora Shropshire is a high kill animal shelter.  HHFH provides transportation for homeless pets from the Flora Shropshire Animal Shelter to no kill animal rescue organizations located throughout Kentucky, in the Chicago Illinois area and Canada.  Additionally, HHFH provides veterinary care to improve the health of these homeless pets and to allow for them to legally cross state borders by obtaining rabies vaccinations and health certificates from a licensed veterinarian. Additionally in February 2014, HHFH begun providing distemper and parvo vaccines to be administered to each dog upon entry into the Flora Shropshire Animal Shelter.    Volunteers of HHFH provide temporary housing for homeless pets awaiting adoption and transportation to no kill animal rescue organizations.  HHFH currently has sixty (60) animals in foster care.  In order to promote adoptions of homeless pets, HHFH organizes pet adoption events featuring pets from the Flora Shropshire Animal Shelter and foster care.  At these adoption events, both cats and dogs will be available for adoption at amounts determined by the Flora Shropshire Animal Shelter.  HHFH will accept donations but will not receive any portion of the adoption proceeds on the pets from the Flora Shropshire Animal Shelter.
