Lima-Urban Minority Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Outreach Program, Inc.
The mission of the Lima Urban Minority Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Outreach Program (Lima UMADAOP) is to reduce the incidence and prevalence of violence, poly substance use/abuse and its negative affects among individuals and families specifically minorities. The program purpose is to teach individuals to take responsibility for their actions; to examine and confront the values, beliefs and attitudes that contribute to those actions; and to develop positive alternatives to addictions and violent behaviors. Lima UMADAOP believes that both substance abuse and violence are best treated when the cultural dynamics of the communities are addressed. Lima UMADAOP will provide holistic, culturally specific, prevention and intensive outpatient programming, which will be easily accessible to the target population.
