Every year, 7,526 Gunnison Valley residents depend on the programs and services our AmeriCorps members provide to our community. Unfortunately, last Friday, the federal government cancelled over $400 million in funding for AmeriCorps Programs nationwide. This will prematurely end the service of nearly 300 AmeriCorps members in Colorado, 25 of whom are managed by Mountain Roots and directly support local families. During this Seeds of Change Spring Fundraising Campaign, we have shared the threat Mountain Roots faces through the termination or delay of federal contracts and grant funds.
