Neighborhood Health Care Network
The mission of NHCN is to strengthen community clinics through integrated activities so that together we can improve the health of underserved communities. For the past ten years, the Network has focused on building the highest quality and most cost-efficient infrastructure for the health care safety net in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. The Network acts as a shared management services organization, helping member clinics realize economies of scale and reduce costs. The Network enhances the clinics ability to deliver excellence in health care in a low-cost setting by building infrastructure, negotiating contracts and group purchases, and implementing necessary technical, financial, and quality improvement systems. In addition, the Network provides joint fundraising, marketing, communication, and public policy activities that raise awareness about the value of the health care safety net in the Twin Cities community. By providing services on a group basis that would be far more expensive for any single clinic to maintain, the Network maximizes cost-efficiencies for its members and allows the clinics to focus more on direct patient care. The Network?s services for its member clinics currently encompass five primary areas: 1. Clinical quality and disease management support 2. Health information systems support 3. Purchasing and business support 4. Joint fundraising and revenue enhancement 5. Outreach and communication
