Warren County Pathfinders

Overview

Warren County Pathfinders is a nonprofit organization based in Warren County, Missouri, dedicated to providing services and support for individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities. History

Originally established as Warren County Handicapped Services in 1986, the organization was formed following the passage of Senate Bill 40, which provided funding for developmental disability services in the county. Initially, services included an integrated preschool and a transportation program for sheltered workshops. Following the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act in 1991, which mandated free public education for all children, including those with disabilities, the organization expanded its services to better meet community needs. In July 2022, the organization officially changed its name to Warren County Pathfinders.

Services

Warren County Pathfinders offers numerous community-based programs, including adult day programs such as Choices and Journeys, which provide opportunities for social integration, skill development, and independence enhancement. The organization supports over 250 individuals and continuously seeks to expand its services to meet evolving community needs.
