Taking Full Responsibility for Your Life We'll pick up where we left off, on #4) Submitting to God, Resisting the Devil! Today's key is short, but it's powerful! I pray this is a blessing to you! 4. SUBMITTING TO GOD, RESISTING THE DEVIL (Ja. 4:7) “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” This step flows out of the previous steps. As you receive revelation, repent, turn from your wicked ways, and walk with God consistently through maintaining an intimate prayer life, you will be strengthened by the Lord to keep submitting to the Lord and keep resisting the devil. Submitting to God doesn’t happen in a vacuum. To submit to God and humble yourself before Him is to come under his mighty hand of power (1 Pet.5:6). As you do that, He begins to exalt you in due time and due season; He begins to lift you up higher and higher, into your manifest inheritance in Christ. What is developed within begins to be seen more without, and God begins to trust you with more as you walk out your salvation, sanctification, and transformation in the Lord daily. You must decide what God’s word says about you. You must decide what is yours by right as a child of the king and not settle for anything less. Satan is a thieving, murdering, destroyer of lives. He’s here to actively resist you. He’s here to actively oppress, plunder, and hammer you into a mere human existence. But you were born from above, and you were born for so much more! But just as Joshua and the children of Israel had to cross over and war for their inheritance of blessing, so will you. You cannot be passive in the Christian faith. You must actively resist the devil everyday through the words you speak, the prayers you pray, and the way you live your life. When you submit to God and resist the devil consistently, for however long it takes, and eventually He will flee from you according to God’s divine promise in the scriptures. If you’re in a battle today, if you feel like you're entrenched in the war for your bloodline and your family, take heart today child of God. If God be for you, who can be against you (Rom.8:31)? The battle belongs to the Lord (1 Sam.17:47). He’s got you and He’s got this! Only keep doing your part and He will most certainly do his. CONCLUSION That concludes today's article.
