AVERY ASSOCIATION FOR EXCEPTIONAL CITIZENS INC
Our mission is to provide assistance to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It is the mission of the Avery Association for Exceptional Citizens to provide vocational, educational, residential, support services and social opportunities to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in Avery County, NC. This mission is accomplished through two programs. Yellow Mountain Enterprises is a daily vocational program serving up to 30 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our vocational program offers jobs scaled to the unique abilities of our worker, giving them the opportunity to earn a paycheck. The Avery County Group Home is a six-bed residential facility serving the same group of individuals with disabilities. Our residential facility is staffed 24 hours per day. Both programs provide opportunities for our clients to participate in social and recreational opportunities available in the community.
