At the Global Forum on Investing in Early Childhood, ECD and business leaders gathered to explore the economic and social benefits of investing in young children, and the powerful role businesses can play in shaping a thriving future for all. During the event, Elizabeth Lule from the Early Childhood Development Action Network - ECDAN highlighted the opportunity that partnerships and collaboration present for building systems that better support children during the critical early years. Today is Global Accessibility Awareness Day. The goal of #GAAD is to raise awareness of the importance of disability inclusion and digital accessibility. A recent review of webpages found that 98% of homepages had at least one accessibility failure. Meanwhile, the average number of failures was 60.9! Common issues were low-contrast text, missing image alt text, and empty links. At CE International, we're working to make our materials accessible and inclusive. In addition to working on our website, we also seek to include image descriptions and alt text in our social media posts and to always include closed captions with videos. If you have tips or suggestions, we welcome them because we want to ensure our work and our communications materials are accessible and inclusive.
