THE WEST VIRGINIA FUND FOR LAW INTHE PUBLIC INTEREST The West Virginia Fund for Law in the Public Interest is a nonprofit organization which funds summer fellowships for WVU College of Law students at publicinterest entities throughout the state. Since its inception in 1987 the Fund has sponsored hundreds of Fellows in furtherance of its twofold mission to enhance the quality of legal services afforded lowincome West Virginians including children the elderly and victims of domestic violence and to help students achieve a deeper appreciation for the importance of publicinterest work. 37 Years of Impact 550 Students Supported 15 Partners 25 Students Supported in 2024 Public Interest Advocates PIA ThePIAis a student organization at the WVU College of Law that works closely with the Fund to help facilitate the candidate selection process. This organization supports the fund by conducting fundraising activities throughout the year including raffles online textbook sales a benefit concert each semester at 123 Pleasant Street and the annual Spring Auction.
