The mission of The Friends of the McGaffin Carillon in University Circle is to improve the quality of life for the thousands who live, study, teach, work, visit, and heal in the University Circle area of Cleveland by enhancing the soundscape with free concerts and special events at the Alexander McGaffin Carillon. Our vision---to: Preserve and Revitalize the Only Cast-Bell Carillon within the City of Cleveland, Enrich Quality of Life in the University Circle Community by Transforming the Soundscape with Music and Providing Free Concerts Advance Education and Collaboration through the Creation of Student Carillon Guilds Light a Torch of Creativity by Commissioning New Music and Community Events

The McGaffin Carillon in Unviversity Circle consists of 47 bronze bells weighing a total of 15,000 lbs. Located in the center of University Circle, the cultural and educational center of Cleveland, Ohio, USA.The McGaffin Carillon The McGaffin Carillon A Musical Voice in Clevelands University Circle Learn More The Carillon is currently silent during a major restoration and renovation. Concerts will resume in the spring of 2025 The McGaffin Carillon The McGaffin Carillon is one of about 200 cast bell carillons in North American and the only one in the city of Cleveland Ohio. Its 47 bells weigh a total of about 15000 lbs and are played by a person at a console high in the tower. This unique voice has serenaded University Circle since 1968.
