We’re so excited! This year’s annual Family Scholar House Graduation Celebration will be held at the Olmsted on Tuesday, June 3. We’ll be celebrating 61 degrees this year — 61 unique success stories filled with obstacles overcome, opportunities embraced, relationships made and goals achieved! Martha, who will be graduating this summer with her Bachelor of Nursing degree from UofL will share her story at the celebration. There’s much more coming, too — watch for updates! (fb)

University of Louisville graduate Jayla is clear: “I don’t know if I would’ve finished college without Family Scholar House” As she looks back over the journey to her Bachelor’s degree, she’s sees support and encouragement from Family Scholar House every step of the way. “When I was in high school, I didn’t have a lot of support. But at Family Scholar House, I always had someone in my corner — helping with school, life, food, even rides when my car was stolen. That support made all the difference.” She found community living at Riverport Scholar House, loved the cooking workshops, and built lasting relationships through her job at the Early Learning Center. “Watching the same kids grow for two years — it’s been amazing. The staff were so supportive when I needed time to study or go to meetings.” Now preparing to move out of state and apply to grad school, she’s excited for what’s next. “Family Scholar House helped me stay focused, grounded, and disciplined. I don’t think I would’ve gotten through college without them.” (fb)
