First Generation College Bound is a poverty solution organization that accomplishes its mission throu First Generation College Bound, Inc. (FGCB) is an unique community initiated program, whose mission is to empower youtom low to moderate income families to achieve social and economic success by providing guidance, encouragement and support in obtaining a college degree. This is accomplished through an education community support system that bridges the resources of the home, church, school, and community. Emphasis is placed on early intervention through academic support, early identification of education and career goals, and participation in college access activities. FGCB also provides opportunities for other communities to replicate its successful model.
