Meet the Costume Designer for The SpongeBob Musical, Kaitlyn Munro! Kaitlyn started sewing when she was ten years old, thanks to her very loving grandmother who gave her hyperfocus and young Type A tendencies a creative outlet. She is a member of the Central Iowa Sewing Guild, and likes altering clothing for her daily life, cosplay, and performance; her main Covid-shutdown-era hobby was adding pockets to just about everything she could get her hands on. For Fall 2023 she was the Wardrobe Manager for the Adventureland Haunted House, “malice in Wonderland,” and last year costumed DMYAT's productions Marvel Spotlight and Peter and the Star Catchers. Lastly, because sewing is a skill and a joy that should be available to everyone, she has been offering free beginner sewing classes (for both adults and children) in partnership with the Des Moines Public Library; check dmpl.org for more information.
