For the purpose of benefiting, promoting, supporting, encouraging, and enhancing the programs and services of the Louisville Free Public Library Our purpose is to advance the Louisville Free Public Library's mission to "provide the people of Metro Louisville with the broadest possible access to knowledge, ideas and information, and to support them in their pursuit of learning." The Library Foundation exists to advance the Louisville Free Public Library's mission of providing the people of Metro Louisville with the broadest possible access to knowledge, ideas and information, and to support them in their pursuit of learning. We raise funds to provide unusual and innovative programs and services at the Library not normally provided by appropriations from governmental agencies and provide a doorway for community members to engage with, advocate for, and dedicate time and treasure to their public library. Our vision is a strong, robust library system that is fully appreciated by, engaged with, and supported by the community.
