Ms. Friedah’s and Mr. Winemiller’s 4th grade classes have spent the last few weeks designing, engineering, and building bridges - and the results were incredible! 🙌 After learning about different types of bridges and what makes them structurally sound, students worked in teams to research, create detailed blueprints, and build their bridges using popsicle sticks, glue, rulers, and protractors. Each bridge had to span 14 inches and support at least 25 pounds. Before testing day, students walked around the classroom to check out the 16 bridges on display, analyzing the different designs and casting their votes for the most aesthetically pleasing, the most structurally sound, and predicting how much weight the strongest bridge would hold. And the big moment? The winning bridge held a jaw-dropping 280 POUNDS - only limited by the number of weights the teachers had! 😱💪 Way to go, future engineers!
