As we close out Mental Health Awareness Month, please be reminded that the DREF Sister Scholars Advisory Council (SSAC) has completed a research report highlighting the urgent need for targeted interventions addressing healthcare inequities in the Black community. SSAC chair, Tchicaya Ellis Robertson, PhD reminds us that “Black Americans are 20% more likely to have serious mental health conditions compared to the general American population. Less than 50% receive the care they need.
