The Circle of Horses is a community-based adaptive riding program that focuses on giving individuals the opportunity to experience working with horses while riding and on the ground. The goal of the program is to increase communication, sociability, sensory/cognitive awareness, and enhance physical and mental behavior The project provides therapeutic treatment to individuals with physical, emotional and cognitive disabilities. We work with youth-at-risk, veterans and parents. The program creates an environment that allows individuals who are individuals to interact with volunteers from the community. A key outcome and success measure of this program is improved day-to-day communication skills of the participants achieved through improved concentration, patience, and self-confidence.
