Eastern Carolina Exchange Exchangette Child Abuse Prevention
The Parenting Place began in Wilmington in 1993 as an initiative of the Exchange Clubs, whose national project is to prevent child abuse. Our programs included Volunteer Parent Aides, intensive home visitors that strive to break the cycle of child abuse, and Parent Education classes. The Parenting Place has evolved into a community family strengthening center whose burturing programs provide parents the support, skills, and information they need so children can thrive.
