On this #EndangeredSpeciesDay, we say 🚫NO to weakening the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Habitat loss is THE leading cause of species decline. Yet a proposed rule change would stop the ESA from protecting the habitat imperiled wildlife need to survive. For over 50 years, the ESA has prevented the extinction of 99% of listed species in the United States by 1️⃣ preventing the direct killing of those species, and 2️⃣ preventing damage to the critical habitats those species need to survive.
