d@w produces media & live events to expose capitalism’s systemic problems & to show how democratizing our workplaces solves them. Co-founded by @Profwolff Democracy at Work is a non-profit 501(c)3 that produces media and live events. Based on the book Democracy at Work: A Cure for Capitalism by Richard D. Wolff, our work analyzes capitalism critically as a systemic problem and advocates for democratizing workplaces as part of a systemic solution. We seek a stronger, fuller democracy – in our politics and culture as well as in our economy - based on workers’ equal collaboration and shared leadership inside enterprises and throughout society.
Democracy at Work
Democracy at Work is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization focused on critical analysis of capitalism and advocating for democratization of workplaces. Mission
Democracy at Work aims to create a stronger, fuller democracy in politics, culture, and workplaces, based on equal collaboration and shared leadership by workers. Structure and Funding
The organization operates as a cooperative, relying heavily on donations to support its operations, including wages, production costs, and media projects. It maintains a digital office and receives donated time from Prof. Wolff and other contributors.
Leadership
Richard D. Wolff is the founder and a key figure in Democracy at Work. The organization is managed by a team including Betsy Avila as managing director, Maria Carnemolla as media director, and Liz Phillips as public engagement manager.
