Aiken Habitat for Humanity builds better communities one family and one home at a time. With God's grace, we change lives. Envisioning a community where everyone has adequate, affordable housing by providing financial counseling, preparing homeowners and advocating change. We are a nonprofit ecumenical Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate substandard and poverty housing in Aiken County, South Carolina. While Habitat for Humanity International was founded by Millard and Linda Fuller in 1976, Aiken County Affiliate (ACHFH) was not formed until 1988. Houses are sold to partner families, financed with no-interest mortgages. ACHFH has built 34 houses as of 6/2000, and plans to complete another 4 before year end.
