Brazilian scientist is 2025 @worldfoodprize Laureate. Dr. Mariangela Hungria dedicated decades to unearthing soil bacteria capable of enhancing crop yeilds as natural fertilizer. The Iowa-based World Food Prize Foundation highlighted that her “decades-long commitment to developing low-cost, nature-based solutions for improving soil health and crop nutrition has transformed sustainable farming in the tropics and beyond!” Dr Hungria has been working at @embrapa, the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation, since 1982.
