A vending machine usually gives you a snack or a soda. But this past holiday season, it gave people a way to light the world. Instead of chips, people chose to give warm undergarments. Instead of candy, they gave school supplies. Instead of a soda, they gave someone a shower, a meal, or a night of safety. Because of this kindness, $27,533 was raised to support our work at St. Patrick Center, meeting people’s basic needs and helping them move toward stability. We’re deeply grateful to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for leading this effort, and to all of you who stopped, gave, and believed in something better. Last week our Parish Ambassadors stepped inside Rosati Place, a Long-term Transformation program of St. Patrick Center, a ministry of Catholic Charities, as part of our First Wednesday of the Month Ministry Tours. They didn’t just see a building—they witnessed a haven of healing and hope. Rosati Place provides intensive residential treatment and supportive housing for adults with severe and persistent mental health diagnoses. With round-the-clock care and a focus on independence, residents receive the support they need to rebuild their lives. By the end of the tour, our Ambassadors left with a deeper understanding of this life-changing work—and with new ideas on how their parishes can support those who call Rosati Place home. This is what it means to live out our faith through action. Together, we are building a community where everyone has the opportunity to heal, grow, and thrive.
