THE MISSION OF THE CORPORATION IS TO STIMULATE A HEALTHIER COMMUNITY THROUGH THREE AVENUES: 1) HEALTHIER LOCAL ECONOMIES FROM INCREASED MARKET OPPORTUNITIES FOR SUSTAINABLE, LOCALLY-PRODUCED GOODS AVAILABILITY2) HEALTHIER FAMILIES THROUGH INCREASED LOCALLY-DRIVEN ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES AND LOCALLY-PRODUCED GOODS AVAILABILITY3) HEALTHIER RESIDENTS THROUGH EDUCATION ON HOW FOOD AND ENVIRONMENT IMPACT HEALTHY LIFE STYLES. BY CREATING OUTLETS FOR LOCALLY-PRODUCED GOODS AND RELATED EDUCATION, THE IRDC WILL BUILD SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC SYSTEMS THAT STRENGTHEN THE HEALTH OF OUR COMMUNITES AND CREATE NEW JOBS THAT ENHANCE THESE COMMUNITIES' QUALITY OF LIFE.
