ManKind Project Greater Washington, Inc.
Women tend to instinctively share feelings and connect with each other on a regular basis. Those connections help them cope with life challenges. On the other hand, Men in our society and culture are taught to think with their heads, and not their hearts. This leaves many of us out of touch with our families, friends, spouses and children. Through the New Warrior Training Adventure, we take 30 to 40 men at a time, and take them into their hearts with a proprietary recipe of behavioral awareness building. We then give them tools to use in communicating with others from the heart. This strengthens the relationships each man has in his world, and allows him to see his life in a new, freer and empowered way. After the initial weekend, graduating men (initiated men) are invited to participate with other men from the same training in weekly groups. These groups allow more work to be done among the men, and create a connection and bond from their own changing reality. By bringing men together in a way that encourages understanding of the way they live their lives, and teaching them new ways to relate, we bring peace to these men, and teach them to communicate without aggressive, impulsive and hurtful actions.
