Simien Mountains Mobile Medical Service-USA

The overall purpose of the project is to improve the quality, accessibility and capacity of basic medical and health care, especially maternal and natal care, available to remote communities in the Simien Mountains by working in close partnership with the Zone Health Office, the district hospital, and local health officers to change behaviours in local communities and local health centres. The project provides free medical and health services for the people living in the Simien Mountains of Ethiopia, including the provision of diagnosis, treatment, referral and follow-up care for common diseases, illness and injuries with priority to professional maternal and natal care, as well as training and education in health, hygiene, sanitation and basic first aid.
