Named for the first Bishop of Paris it is today the oldest church in Paris. A magnificent repository of architectural and artistic treasures an ancient and enduring center of high intellectual attainment the home for more than 400 years to Europes leading Benedictine order the church at Saint Germain des Pres has stood watch for nearly fifteen centuries over the tumultuous history of the City of Paris. Today though approximately 90 of the renovation has been completed the church remains in need of further restoration and preservation.
