THE PURPOSE OF THE MANKATO FIGURE SKATING CLUB IS THE ENCOURAGEMENT OF PARTICIPATION, INSTRUCTION, PRACTICE, AND ADVANCEMENT OF SKATERS WITHIN THE MANKATO AREA IN COMPULSORY FIGURES, FREE SKATING, PAIR SKATING, DANCE, AND ALL OTHER TYPES OF FIGURE SKATING.

The Mankato Figure Skating Club (MFSC) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1978, dedicated to promoting figure skating in the Mankato, Minnesota area. The club encourages instruction, practice, and advancement in the sport, welcoming skaters of all ages and abilities.
History
The MFSC was established by local figure skating enthusiasts, including Mary Jane Blethen, who also played a pivotal role in organizing the first local ice show and establishing the Mankato Ice Palace, now known as All Seasons Arena. The club has been a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization since 1988 and is a member of U.S. Figure Skating (USFS), the governing body for the sport in the United States.
Mission and Programs
The mission of the Mankato Figure Skating Club is to develop the potential of each member through a range of programs. The club offers various instructional opportunities, from beginner to advanced levels, and includes programs for children as young as three years old. Members can participate in the Basic Skills program, the Senior Club, as well as individual or group lessons for adults.
Annual Ice Show
The MFSC hosts an annual ice show, a longstanding tradition in the club, showcasing the talents of skaters across all levels. The 50th annual ice show, themed "Cinderella: If the Skate Fits," took place in April 2025 and featured 42 skaters alongside nearly 70 alumni, celebrating the club's legacy through creative storytelling and choreography. This production not only highlights the skills of its members but also serves as a community gathering event, fostering a love for figure skating.

Over its decades of operation, the Mankato Figure Skating Club has become a cornerstone of ice skating in Greater Mankato.
