The United Way of Monroe County was founded in 1926 to improve the lives of people by mobilizing the caring power of people. In 2016 after regionalization with Lenawee County the name was changed to United Way of Monroe/Lenawee Counties. Mission Statement: It is the mission of the United Way of Monroe/Lenawee Counties to improve lives by promoting healthy communities, enhancing youth opportunities, building financial security, and improving resiliency in Monroe and Lenawee Counties. .
