I asked Renee, Dobby’s foster, If I could share this….. I am not sure I can put into words the complex emotions I am feeling. Dobby went home to forever a few minutes ago and sometimes being a foster is just really hard. He arrived December 10th and I was all but certain he wouldn't survive the night but he fought and I fought and the rest is history. I would be lying if I said you don't have to experience heartbreak along with the joy, but that is what we signed up for. Dobby helped us through the loss of Tessa and found his way into all of our hearts. The easy answer would have been keeping him, but the right answer was helping him find his family. He is going to be so loved and at the same time his adoption allows us to keep fostering. It can be awful and amazing at the same time, just like most things are. I think in my almost 5 years fostering, across probably 65 animals...the last two adoptions have been the hardest for me and Dobby undoubtedly the worst for my family. And yet I am confident we made the right call. Be good buddy! (fb)
