Operation Enduring Gratitude | Veterans Serving Veterans

We are veterans serving veterans by restoring homes and lives! Red tape is everywhere. Dealing with bureaucracy is part of business, and it can really put a halt to projects. People who are willing to take the initiative is becoming increasingly rare, but military experience counteracts that. Taking the leap and doing your job regardless of the obstacles is what Operation Enduring Gratitude is doing for our Veterans!

Operation Enduring Gratitude

Operation Enduring Gratitude (EIN: 471063213) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Phoenix, Arizona. Established to provide comprehensive support and assistance to veterans in need, the organization aims to fill the gap left by existing services for veterans.

History and Mission

The organization was founded following a community development project in 2013, where a contractor named Charlie Ellis and his team renovated a kitchen for a veteran in need. This initiative inspired further action and led to the establishment of Operation Enduring Gratitude. The mission is centered around offering tangible gratitude to veterans by improving their living conditions through home renovations and rehabilitation.

Services and Activities

Operation Enduring Gratitude primarily focuses on restoring homes damaged by fires or natural disasters and rehabilitating low-income veterans' residences. The organization relies on a network of volunteers, skilled tradespeople, and local businesses to carry out its projects efficiently. Community events, such as volunteer gatherings and fundraising activities, are essential to its operations.

Values and Impact

The core values of Operation Enduring Gratitude include compassion, integrity, and community. Through these values, the organization fosters trust and builds meaningful relationships with the veterans it serves. Volunteers frequently express their sense of honor and fulfillment in supporting this mission, highlighting the organization's positive impact on veterans' lives.

Financials and Transparency

As a tax-exempt organization, Operation Enduring Gratitude submits an annual Form 990EZ to maintain transparency. In recent years, the organization's revenue has consisted mainly of contributions from supporters. Key personnel and officers, including President Charlie Ellis, receive no compensation, focusing on the nonprofit's mission rather than personal gain.

Legacy and Future Goals

With an estimated 600,000 veterans residing in Arizona, Operation Enduring Gratitude continues to expand its services to meet the growing needs of this community. Through ongoing volunteer efforts and community engagement, the organization strives to ensure that every veteran has access to a comfortable and dignified home environment.
