Movements Unlimited Performing Arts Company Inc. is an Afro-Centric non-profit corporation organized and regulated as a 501 © 3 corporation by the Internal Revenue Service. Movements Unlimited is led by our Chairperson and Founder, Cynthia Jasari Williams-Jahi, and her husband, Sitawi Kiongozi Jahi Chief Executive Officer and President. Movements Unlimited started off as a hobby for Cynthia Jasari Williams-Jahi in 1974. From 1974 until 1986 Cynthia worked with children out of her home and at different recreation centers in the Baltimore area. Her work helped youth produce different performances at City Fairs and Community Programs. In 1986 Cynthia met Sitawi they fell in love got married and Sitawi helped her to turn her hobby into an incorportated non-profit Performing Arts Company. In 1990 after winning the Kool Acheivers Award the company moved on to become a 501 © 3 corporation. Since then the company has focused on African American Youth and Family Development using Performing Arts as a means of expression. Mrs. & Mr. Jahi and their strong management team have successfully implemented a strategy of developing African American Youth to reach high levels of achievement, enrichment and empowerment goals.
