Indigo Wings Incorporated
Indigo Wings is a 501(c )(3) organization founded to help people with disabilities become more financially and vocationally independent through the expression of their creative abilities. The main goal of Indigo Wings is to provide support to artists with disabilities in the form that best meets their needs. Many individuals with disabilities live at or below the poverty level and the launch of Indigo Wings coincided with the 25th Anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act for that very reason. Progress has been made, to be sure, but employment of people with disabilities is still so far behind the national average. According to US Department of Labor statistics, 80% of people with disabilities want to work, but less than 18% are employed.
