Today, meet Alex Callaway, director of Quality and Patient Safety at Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital, as well as additional locations in Cadillac, Charlevoix, Frankfort, Grayling, and Gaylord. "I’m responsible for system-wide improvement strategies to address processes and outcomes related to patient care. I’ve been with Munson Healthcare (initially in Manistee) for 10 years with previous experience in outpatient operations management, continuous improvement, and quality data management. I have an MBA in Information Systems, an undergraduate degree in Healthcare Administration, and currently hold certifications in quality and patient safety. I completed the Manistee Area Leadership Program in 2018. Professionally, I serve on advisory committees for the tristate Superior Health Quality Alliance, The Michigan Value Collaborative, and ad hoc Michigan Critical Access Hospital strategy group(s). I’m also a member of the Tight Lines for Troops Board and I volunteer at Homeward Bound because I love animals. I’ve lived in Manistee County for about 20 years and met my husband at Onekama High School. I’m passionate about sustainable rural healthcare quality and access, community involvement and collaboration, and maximizing what our amazing county has to offer." (fb)
