Civil Air Patrol

Overview

The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is a congressionally chartered, federally supported non-profit corporation that serves as the official civilian auxiliary of the United States Air Force (USAF). It was founded on December 1, 1941, with the primary objective of mobilizing civilian aviation resources for national defense services during World War II. Organizational Structure

Missions

CAP has five congressionally mandated missions:

Programs
