Northside's Professional Theatre Chamberlayne Actors Theatre, Northside's Professional Theatre Chamberlayne Actors Theatre is a nonprofit 501c3 organization that produces high quality professional theatre and brings it to you at an affordable cost. We are proud to have been part of the Northside of Richmond for 56 years. Here you'll find great theater, free parking, no traffic jams and a friendly community of welcoming folks. Our mission consists of making quality entertainment affordable to everyone in the Richmond community and providing opportunities for local artists, both new and experienced. Our training and apprentice opportunities have made us a gateway into Richmond professional theatre. Approximately half of our designers and actors make their professional debuts at CAT. These artists often return to CAT, as well as perform and design at other local and out-of-town theatres. Our intimate 150-seat theatre enables audiences to enjoy the professional work of local actors performing diverse plays from crowd-pleasing comedies to modern farces to literary classics -- all at family-friendly prices.
