GRATIOT ANIMALS IN NEED
The mission of Gratiot Animals in Need (G.A.I.N.) is to improve the lives of all companion animals and free roaming, community cats in Gratiot County, Michigan. We will do this by reducing the number of unwanted animals and accidental litters through low cost spay neuter services. Through education about the availability of spay and neuter services and providing access to low cost clinics, pet overpopulation can be reduced. G.A.I.N. also hopes to assist owners with the resources necessary to keep their pets. G.A.I.N. has established a pet food bank and also assists with vetting needs for owned pets to reduce shelter surrenders. G.A.I.N. also assists seniors and pet owners with disabilities keep their pets by providing support and financial assistance. G.A.I.N. has a TNR and barn cat program designed to promote community cat acceptance. G.A.I.N. also has a cat and dog foster program and helps with rehoming of cats and dogs to reduce shelter surrenders.
