The organization was established after the acquisition of the historic Old Alcohol Plant in Port Hadlock, Washington, in 2015. The site, originally a manufacturing plant built in 1911, was later converted into a resort hotel but remained underutilized until it was remodeled. Bayside Housing & Services commenced operations in 2016, offering a unique model where a portion of the hotel is dedicated to transitional housing, while the rest remains operational for hotel guests. This dual-purpose approach helps fund operations through hotel proceeds.

Mission and Services

The mission of Bayside Housing & Services is to strengthen community through housing, advocacy, and human services, supporting social and economic independence. The organization provides essential services to individuals who are currently without shelter or are unstably housed, including seniors, veterans, families with children, and those experiencing domestic violence, major physical or mental health challenges, and disabilities. Since its inception, Bayside Housing & Services has provided over 72,200 safe and warm bed nights, more than 30,280 hot meals, and has helped a significant number of participants transition into long-term housing.
