The UofM Crews Center for Entrepreneurship and the University of Memphis Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music hosted the 2025 Tiger Tank competition in April, awarding $10,000 in cash prizes to innovative student ventures. Hosted at the FedEx Institute of Technology at the University of Memphis, Tiger Tank had 17 teams compete, representing a broad spectrum of industries including AI, sustainability, education, social enterprise, fashion, consumer products, food and beverage, music, hospitality and medical devices. Dr. Jennifer Miles will be the new Executive Director for the University of Memphis Lambuth, effective June 1. Miles brings 30 years of experience providing vision and leadership to higher education institutions. As a leader, Miles believes strongly in collaboration, visibility and empowering the local community to become involved with university life. “Higher education leaders must be visible, and able to share their institution’s story and clearly articulate the good work being done on campus,” Miles said.
