#GirlsEducation grounded in Lakota culture, language, and values, to empower the young women of Pine Ridge to serve & shape their world. #PineRidgeGirlsSchool An education grounded in Lakota culture, language, and values, to empower the girls of the Pine Ridg Pine Ridge Girls School, or Anpo Wicahpi Owayawa in Lakota, is an all-girls college-preparatory school (grade 6-12) established in 2016 in response to the combined challenges to improve an education system that was failing girls and begin to build pathways out of poverty. The School is the first and only independent, community-driven, college-prep all-girls school on any North American Native reservation. Our mission is to radically change the trajectory of Lakota girls' lives by equipping them with the cultural, spiritual and academic foundations they need for promising futures, full of choice, community service, and opportunity.
